Consider Volunteering in your community with one of our local volunteer Fire Departments

 

Every community in Watauga County is served by a fire department which provides not only provides lifesaving skills should you have a fire but also provides first response when you dial 911 for a medical emergency as well.  Most of the fire departments in Watauga County provide this service with strictly volunteers that live within the community.  Please consider volunteering with your local Fire Department and become a valued member of your community.  Contact your local fire department for more information on how you can help within your own community.

Paramedic Ambulances staffed 24/7

 

With the support of Watauga County we staff multiple paramedic level  ambulances to respond to emergencies in 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  In 2018 we responded to over 6,000 emergencies, a number which continues to increase annually.

Community CPR Classes

We are better together!  We know that the more members of our community who are comfortable with life-saving interventions such as Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation, the better.  Our monthly community CPR courses are FREE to the public.  The only cost is $7 which covers the American Heart Association CPR card issued to each participant at the end of the class.  Sign up now!
